Tabex, Smoking Cessation Without Withdrawal Symptoms
Mechanism of action: Active ingredient Cytisinum is an alkaloid of citisin (also found in common laburnum (Laburnum anagyroides), which acts on the nicotine receptors like nicotine and competes with nicotine when ingested. Cytisine from Tabex preparation is absorbed by the same receptors as nicotine and gradually reduces the absorption of nicotine without withdrawal symptoms. This reduces the absorption of nicotine, thereby reducing the number of cigarettes smoked.
Dosage: Day 1-3: 1 tablet every 2 hours (6 tablets daily). The pay of the smoked cigarettes is reduced. Day 4 - 12: 1 tablet every 2.5 hours (5 tablets daily) 13 - 16 day: 1 tablet every 3 hours (4 tablets daily) Day 17 - 20: 1 tablet every 5 hours (3 tablets daily). Day 21 - 25: 1-2 tablets daily The smoking person should definitely stop smoking, no later than on the 5th day of ingestion. After the 5th day no more cigarettes should be smoked. The therapy can be repeated after 4-5 months.
Warning: People with stomach irritation or stomach ulcers should take the remedy with plenty of liquid. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.
Possible side effects at high doses: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, muscle weakness, muscle cramps. The dosage should be reduced. The symptoms then go away on their own.
